This blog is not about the tragedy that came to the millions of Ukrainians on February 24th, 2022. It is about amazing things such as compassion, solidarity and participation that arise despite horrors of the war.

I started this project together with my two lifelong friends – Lena & Olena – to raise funds for those in need in Ukraine. And also to give a part of Ukraine in return as a form of reciprocity [wederkerigheid – взаимность – взаємність] – through my artworks.

By selling my artworks, Lena collects funds in the Netherlands while Olena puts the funds into action through her network of volunteers in Ukraine.

This project is ongoing: 50% of the proceeds I donate to Olena’s charity initiatives so when you buy my artworks, you know that you help someone who needs it the most.

Thanks for standing with Ukraine and with us!

March 2022
Raised:  €995 (30 796 UAH)

Our primary focus was to send food, clothes, medicine and hygiene products to people in sieged places. We have contributed to the gasoline costs of the logistic heroes who actually brought those items to the people of Bucha and Kharkiv, often putting their own lives at risk. We have also financially helped an orphanage house in Mukachevo (Zakarpattia oblast) and a few individual refugees.

April 2022
Raised:  €300 (9 385UAH)

In April we continued to support individual refugees and provided supplies of coffee and sweets to our heroes who fight for us at the frontline.

May 2022
Raised:  €475 (14 220 UAH)

The funds of May went to the supplies of the orphanage house in Ovruch (Zhytomyr oblast) and to individual refugee families. Also we have been helping a new group of the affected ones – animals – who also suffer from the hardships of this war.

June 2022
Raised:  €400 (12 313UAH)

June funds went mainly to the medical needs of the hospital in Kuchari village (Kyiv oblast), which was heavily bombed by the Russian troops. Next to it, we have donated 5000 UAH for the food supplies for Kharkiv residents through our friends and partners, the foundation ‘Nebo Nadii’ (The Sky of Hope)’.
